家长教育参与:行动、信念与脉络 收藏
简 介:家长参与子女教育是教育领域的重要议题。本书以实证数据为基础,由表及里,从家长参与子女教育的行为、信念和参与脉络三个层面进行描述、分析。研究发现,家长大量参与子女教育的行为分布在家庭、学校和社会三个场域,但并非平均分布。较之学校的参与,家长在家庭和社会场域参与更多。家长对自我家庭角色的信念、与学校教师沟通的信念、对课外教育的信念以及子女未来职业信念表现出了当地的文化生态和个人境遇脉络的影响,反映了社会与教育的现实。

简 介:Based on data analyses,a model to represent the themes related to parents' supporting activities and beliefs was developed(See Figure 5-1). Figure 5-1 Model of Parents' Supporting Activities,Beliefs and Contextual Influencing Factors The purpose of this model is to show the structure of the results.According to the different school levels,the concept map firstly presents the supporting activities parents expressed.The presentation of these supporting activities is for answering the questions of what parents do to support children's education.Then parents' beliefs are identified.The identification of parents' beliefs is for understanding why parents support their children's education.Beliefs are considered as the power that frames supporting activity. Furthermore,the influencing factors reported by parents are presented in this model.In this chapter,the themes that emerged from parents' reports are presented and discussed with evidence from the interviews.The results include both the common themes across the interviews and important unique perspectives.

简 介:Parent involvement is influenced not only by cultural,economic and educational factors,but also by parents' socioeconomic status and educational background.The research setting will be presented through four levels.The first level focuses on Changchun's cultural background which sheds light on people's values and worldviews.The second level introduces the economic structure of Changchun city.Economic structure determines the labor market structure and further frames people's social experiences.Cultural and economic factors have less direct influence on parent involvement,but are still important.The third level introduces China's educational system and Changchun's educational background which both have a direct influence on parent involvement.The fourth level is the parents' background information which describes the parent groups in terms of socioeconomic status and educational backgrounds.The variables among the parents influence their ways of supporting activities and beliefs in children's education.Figure 4-1 shows the main content of this chapter.

简 介:Three areas of theory and research inform the proposed study.First,research on the definition of parent involvement provides information on the connotation of parent involvement.Although many studies have defined parent involvement,finding a single definition of parent involvement is controversial due to its multiple dimensions.Second,research on the two most important dimensions of parent involvement—parents' supporting activities and beliefs was explored.This area of research provides information on the various supporting activities parents do to support their children's education and the beliefs related to these supporting activities.The last area of theory and research focuses on the context of parent involvement.It provides information on how parent involvement relates to its surrounding environment.This body of research identifies extant research on the dimensions of the parent involvement context.It also addresses the complex influencing factors in relation to parent involvement and the Chinese parent involvement context.A review of this literature demonstrates a lack of knowledge on parent involvement in children's education and points to a need for further investigation taking different social and cultural factors into consideration.
