Report on the Development of Ethnic Education in China (2017): The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region

Ethnic education stands at the intersection between the field of education and the development of ethnic unity and progress in China. The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, as the first ethnic Autonomous Region in China, has given the development of ethnic education a very significant place since its establishment. The Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region has been recognised as an outstanding model for ethnic unity, economic and social development, as exemplified by its vigorous progress in ethnic education. This book is the first Blue Book on ethnic education in China. It is also the first Blue Book on the development of ethnic education in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. This Blue Book offers a comprehensive examination on the development, current status, achievements and experiences of ethnic education in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region over the past 70 years. It also points out some problems in ethnic education, and proposes suggestions and directions for the future. It is hoped that the book can provide useful background reference for workers in ethnic education as well as researchers and policy-makers, and promote ethnic educational research and new developments in ethnic education.
