社会质量发源于欧洲,目前已经发展较为成熟,有一套自成体系的欧洲社会质量指标体系,被欧洲国家用来衡量社会的发展程度。在其创立者那里,社会质量被定义为“人们在提升他们的福祉和个人潜能的条件下,能够参与共同体的社会与经济生活的程度”。可以说,关注以人为核心的发展是社会质量研究范式的本体论基础。 本书有选择性地翻译了9篇社会质量领域的有影响力的文献,并结合中国的实际,用社会质量理论做了实证性研究,较为完整地呈现了社会质量这一全新研究范式的内容和发展前景,是国内第一本系统地介绍社会质量研究的著作。
