中国:经济磁石还是竞争对手?

摘要

过去几十年间,中国在全球范围内受到的关注与日俱增,为此,学者们就中国话语的类型这一问题开展了大量学术研究,这一问题也引起了媒体的广泛讨论。有些研究指出,在某些美国媒体中,一种病态的恐华(Sino-phobic)话语甚嚣尘上。笔者由此产生了这样一个问题,即,在非英语类的媒体对中国问题的描述中,是否也存在着类似的态度和话语预设框架?为此,本研究旨在分析比利时和荷兰的精英媒体对中国这一新兴世界行为体的看法。本研究综合运用了内容分析法和批判性话语分析法。前者用于探讨媒体对中国问题的报道中各个不同主题之间的层级关系,以及媒体文章所采用的语气和视角;后者则用于重新梳理一些话语战略运用实例(discursive practices),例如预设评估视角(evaluative positioning),以及对中国及其主要行为体的报道框架预设。此外,本文还整合了话语研究中的框架式诱导话语战略分析(framing research)以及葛兰西关于媒体霸权的概念,以便探讨本文所选取的媒体对特定信息来源的选择是否为读者的“多元解读”留下了一定的空间。
