简   介：The China-Arab Expo is an essential platform for the construction of the “Belt and Road” between China and Arab countries. The leading group approved it of the National Forum on Cleanup and Standardization Celebrations. With the strong support of the relevant central and national ministries, provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), the initiative has received much support across the region. Around the period of September 5-8, 2019, the Ministry of Commerce, along with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and The People’s Government of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, co-hosted the Fourth China-Arab Expo in Yinchuan, Ningxia.

简   介：The geography of the Arab states is West Asia and North Africa, with a few countries situated in the north-west and north-eastern regions of Africa. The modern state of agriculture in these countries is underdeveloped. The governments have not committed sufficient resources or collective will to address and overcome the agricultural challenges they face. Agricultural Science and technology are not widespread in this region. As a result of this, most Arab countries are unable to achieve agrarian self-sufficiency, resulting in the potential for serious food security problems. Even in Iraq, which has a decent agricultural infrastructure, food self-sufficiency remains out-of-reach due to the long-term effects of war and political instability. Once known as the “Granary of the Byzantine Empire,” Egypt also is unable to rely on its land to feed its people.

简   介：This chapter looks at research objectives as it pertains to emerging industries. Emerging industries are rising in global importance. They represent essential development potential with high potential for gains occurring at a faster rate. Improved economic benefits are due to its primary focus on high tech and high-value areas. Nowadays, emerging industries are the driving force of a country’s economic development. It is the main focus of industrial development, and it plays a critical role in long-term economic growth. Most of the Arab countries belong to the developing countries. However, with an overall economic base that is relatively weak, the economic development and scientific and technological needs of different countries are variable. Through its various resource endowments and driven by market demand, emerging industries fuel much growth and international competition. Arab countries have established seven emerging sectors they are actively supporting:

简   介：Egypt’s science and technology development overview: Egypt’s science and technology system is relatively mature. The Egyptian Scientific Research Council began in 1939, and the Ministry of Scientific Research was established in 1968. In 1996, Egypt’s Supreme Science and Technology Committee was re-established to model the National Science and Technology Development Plan. The Ministry of Scientific Research is the highest administrative body for scientific research in Egypt. It coordinates scientific and technological activities throughout the country, formulates a national policy and five-year plan. The Egyptian Government develops policies and provides various services, such as tax exemptions, guarantees, and financial support, to promote its national science and technology initiatives. Egypt has extensive scientific capabilities and has forged productive technology collaborations with the outside world. With a focus on partnering with countries in the West, Egypt has signed scientific and technological agreements with 29 countries and international organizations. The partnerships have produced technological advances in agriculture, light industry, medicine, new materials, remote sensing, computer applications, and genetic engineering. Egypt is a leader in Africa and the Arab world and is the region’s leading exporter of science and technology. With the assistance of developed countries in the west, Egypt has achieved gains in crop variety improvement, pest control, desert improvement, remote sensing technology application, cardiovascular disease, and schistosomiasis control. Although Egypt’s Science and technology are among the best in Africa and the Arab world, they have remained below the world average.

简   介：Since the beginning of the 21st century, China has faced problems such as overcapacity, dependence on foreign oil and gas resources, and industry and infrastructure concentrated along the coast. In September and October 2013, Chinese President Xi Jinping launched the “Belt and Road” Initiative to develop economic partnerships with Arab countries actively. The initiative focused on building a community of interests and political mutual trust. The efforts involved economic integration, cultural inclusion, development of a city of destiny, and a community of responsibility. With this aspirational blueprint, China signed the “Belt and Road” Construction Agreement with Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Iraq, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Lebanon, Egypt, Morocco, and other Arab countries. It also signed a document for capacity cooperation with five countries: The United Arab Emirates, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, and Egypt. Additionally, it established friendly and cooperative relations with several countries in the Arab world.
