The Annual Report is collectively written by researchers of the Wuhan University Institute of International Law. It is aimed at summarizing comprehensively the latest developments in the international rule of law, especially the new trends in 2016, and focusing on the ideas China advocates, the principles China maintains, the actions China takes, and the significant contributions China makes in every specific areas. The Annual Report will increase the transparency of China’s practice, as well as urge countries around the world and all social circles to make an objective assessment of China’s contributions to the promotion of the international rule of law.
The Report 2016 consists of two parts: practice summaries and reports on special topics. The First Part describes the practice of China in respect of the rule of law and relations among states, the rule of law and international economic relations, the rule of law and international civil and commercial affairs, and overseas dissemination of China’s position and practice in international Law. Part Two focuses on special topics, and systematically concludes China’s theoretical innovation, institutional construction and latest practice within some specific areas in 2016.
